Guest Author's Page

I would like to improve this website by encouraging visitors to submit their own fiction and artwork.  If you have written fiction or created a drawing that you think would fit within the over-all tone of this website, I would be happy to hear from you.  I have set up a Yahoo e-mail account to facilitate submissions and file-sharing.  The address is: caligula97236@yahoo.com

The guidelines for submissions are as follows:

- The story should involve a bare-bottom spanking and/or public nudity.

- Nothing too extreme, and nothing that involves any type of permanent injury or physical modification of the human body. I’m not into scars, bleeding, tattoos, branding, and piercing, and am not interested in reading about that or putting it on my website.

- Sex between adult characters is OK, as long as the sex is not coerced (i.e. no rape scenarios). Moderate sexual humiliation is OK, as long as it does not go beyond what I have written (for example chapter 24 of "The Wanderings of Amy")

- Any description of sexual contact between adults and minors is a big no-no. I would consider posting a "coming of age" type story, as long as it involves characters roughly the same age in a realistic and completely consensual situation. A "coming of age" story would have to be tastefully done and not overly explicit.

- Stories describing the punishment of minors will be considered on a case-by-case basis. An example of fiction involving the punishment of minors I do find acceptable is the work published in Haley Brimley's Down in the Den - http://www.downintheden.com/

- Character development is a must, the story needs to feature interesting characters and have some sort of plot or dialogue leading up to the punishment.

- The use of vulgar language should be restricted to characters' dialogue, and not be part of the author's narrative. I do not find fiction packed with explicit and vulgar wording in the author's narrative to be erotic. In my own fiction I allow my characters to swear in their speech or thoughts when I feel it fits their over-all personalities, but I don't extend that liberty to myself when I am trying to explain what is going on in the story.  For example, I might allow a character to use the terms "cock" and "pussy" when they speak, but I feel that to use such terms repeatedly in narration is in poor taste.

Thoughts on what website visitors have already written

This website has been posted since April 2005. Originally it started out with just two novels, a few short stories, the Corel Draw illustrations, and the pictures from CampSpank at the 2001 Burning Man Festival. Since then it has grown as I have added the chapters and Poser illustrations from my more recent novels. When I decided to close my Yahoo Sims group in 2008, I moved most of the Yahoo Sims material into the website as well. Of course, I also have included the contributions of several readers, files for which I am grateful to have as additions. I expect that this website will continue to grow over time as I add illustrations, text, and reader submissions.

Throughout the years I have been posting my fiction online, I have had plenty of feedback from readers, most of which has been positive. In many cases people have written simply to thank me for what I have posted, which is something that I’d imagine any author would be grateful to hear. I know I am. I have an ego just like everyone else, and hearing someone say “I like what you have created” is something that I appreciate as much as the next guy.

A lot of people are curious about my fictitious country and have asked me for more information of how I envision different details of its society that I did not elaborate in the novels. In many cases the questions have given me ideas to expand or enhance the general storyline of my narrative. It is precisely because of questions that readers have presented to me about various characters that many of them make appearances in more than one novel. In my mind each of my characters has a life story. A portion of that life story can appear in one novel and a different portion will appear in the next novel. In many cases that starts from a question presented by a reader. Sometimes I can be surprised by what interests readers. For example, more people have e-mailed me to comment or ask about my character Tiffany Walker (from “Maragana Girl”) than any of my other characters.

A couple of readers have asked me about my fictitious corporation Mega-Town Associates. The original idea for Mega-Town Associates came from my observations of the US-based company Walmart. Obviously Mega-Town is a caricature, but considering Walmart's desperation to crush its competitors and suppress its workers and impose itself on the nation (as it did in my neighborhood in spite of the fact none of the residents wanted them there), I don't think it is overly exaggerated. Mega-Town is a representation of everything I think is wrong about corporate capitalism as it is currently being practiced, not only the practice, but the fundamental philosophy of "anything goes as long as it is profitable". As for the Danubia coup attempt, that incident was loosely based on two events that really happened: the 1954 coup against the Arbenz administration in Guatemala that was promoted by the United Fruit Company and the 1961 Bay of Pigs invasion in Cuba.

Several readers have criticized the fact that there is no freedom of religion in my imaginary country Danubia. To be honest, I am not a supporter of the idea that religious people should be able to travel to other countries and do and say whatever they want, wherever they want, with no thought they might be offending the people around them. In the case of Danubia’s prohibition on foreign missionaries and foreign-sponsored proselytizing, that actually reflects my own fantasies. I have been accosted time and again in the street by people pushing this or that religion, and I would love to see aggressive religious advocates sanctioned. I have seen first-hand the tremendous damage evangelicals have done to native cultures in Latin America, and I very strongly believe the international community should put a stop to trans-national proselytizing, and I am not just talking about Christians. The same holds true in many parts of the Islamic world, where missionaries from Saudi Arabia have forced locals in places like Bosnia and the Caucuses to adapt their version of Islam.

The feedback that I most appreciate is when a reader points out something in the writing that needs correction, such as grammatical mistakes or inconsistencies in the text. For example, I had a visitor point out a passage where I had put the name “Pedro” where I really meant to put “Jose Pablo” in my most recent novel “The Courier”. Another reader pointed out that I had used “equinox” instead of “
solstice in one of my chapters of "Maragana Girl", a mistake that remained unnoticed in that novel for six years. In some cases people have taken the trouble to point out things such as missing words or sentences that don’t make sense. Another reader pointed out that I described the Danubian Royal Estate as a “pretentious 19th-Century brick mansion that boasted a multitude of turrets, baloneys, and towers.” Shouldn’t it have been “balconies”? Oops…looks like I hit the wrong word in spell-check. For any observation like that, no matter how seemingly trivial, I am very grateful.

Some people have noted that specific scenarios are overly-unrealistic as written and have suggested corrections or modifications, advice that I have taken into consideration when I write or do revisions. Ruth Burnside’s student release is one example of such an observation. A reader asked me how is it that Dr. Burnside doesn’t get sued for her treatment of students, so I came up with the release document to allow the character to cover herself legally.

Website visitors have also asked me to proof-read fiction that they have written, and that is something I enjoy doing. Over the years that I have been online, other writers have asked for advice or feedback, which I am always happy to provide, as long as the draft is complete and the writer has taken the trouble to do the basics such as run spell-check.

I have had two requests by readers who wanted to use Danubia as a backdrop for their own stories. In both cases I granted permission, on the condition the author create their own characters and not put anything in their narrative that contradicts what I have written about my fictitious country. You can find Chessman's alternate Danubia story in the enforced nudity section under the title "Culture Clash" at:

The other author I never heard from again, so I’m not sure if anything resulted from his desire to write or not.

I also have received several e-mails saying “I have this great idea for a story, why don’t you write it up for me?” One such request that stood out was a reader begging me to write a novel about Arab slave traders kidnapping women from Europe and punishing them. Ugh...I really don't think so...I'll pass on writing about that...

When people approach me with story ideas, I always suggest they use those ideas as a beginning for their own fiction. I encourage other people to write, to take their ideas and put them into text so that other people can enjoy them. As far as I am concerned, the more people actually creating fiction, the more authors that post, and the more literature that is available to the on-line reader, the better for all of us.

However, I will only take responsibility for developing my own ideas, concepts, and characters, not anyone else’s. I am not a ghost writer, and my own material keeps me plenty busy. I have never asked anyone to write up my ideas; that is something I have always taken care of myself. That is the standard I have set for myself, and it is the standard I set for anyone else who has a “great story idea”.

A final note on my writing:

My work is not purely erotic discipline fiction; rather fiction in which sex and erotic discipline are only two out of several elements, the others being psychological, political, and alternate reality. I can't write if I don't have an interesting and developed setting for the story in my own mind, nor can I write about characters that don't have backgrounds and personalities that I can take a personal interest in. I also like to describe the physical setting where my story is taking place, which I think is an important component for any serious piece of fiction.

I think where many erotic fiction writers make a crucial mistake is that the sexual part of their novels is the plot, and not part of a broader story-line, and thus the characters are never allowed to develop lives outside their sexual experiences. There are only so many ways to describe sexual intercourse or a punishment and that is a problem facing the erotic discipline genre in general. In many works that I have read there is a progression of punishment that is ever more severe...leaving the author with the problem of where to cut it off.

The other issue I have with the genre is that the characters in a lot of the work I have seen are not interesting to me, the women are just inanimate bottoms to be beaten by unthinking masters or mistresses. There is no real explanation of why it is happening. When I read a story, I want to know why things are happening and what motivates the actors.
