Cecilia Alejada - The Castaway

A Sims 2 story - narration and screenshots by EC

Cecilia Alejada – my Castaway heroine, close-up portrait

Note from EC: My story line follows the original Sims 2 Castaway PC version plot.  The narration is mine, but I am following the story as it is laid out by EA games.  Sims Castaway, and a similar game called Sims Life Stories, are stand-alone versions of the Sims 2 series.  Both stand-alone versions require the player to complete a pre-set story line before the lots and characters are unlocked.  As with all Sims games, it is possible to load custom skins and outfits to create your own custom character, which is what I did with the castaway Cecilia Alejada.

I played the original game twice to get all the screenshots I wanted.  The screenshots were made with the Fraps screen capture program. Fraps is a great program, it will capture whatever is on your screen at the moment.  The images posted here are re-sized to 50% of the original screenshots.

Thoughts on the game - I very much enjoyed the beauty of Sims Castaway.  However game-play is very lineal and the main character's "wants" pretty much tells the player what to do, so there is no challenge.  Another problem is that Castaway and Sims Life Stories do not have camera capabilities, so you cannot take screenshots without a 3rd-party program such as Fraps.  The biggest criticism I have however, is that once you have completed the story line, you cannot create new lots as is possible in the regular version of Sims 2.  With some difficulty it is possible to convert pre-existing public lots to private ones using Sim Enhancer, which is absolutely necessary if you want to play the additional characters in the game.

- The shipwreck took place at night, when Cecilia was asleep. She jumped overboard without having a chance to put on her clothes.

- Cecilia washed up on the beach. At least she’ll get a nice tan from this…

- The Castaway – Cecilia looks around the beach, trying to figure out what to do. She tries to find some clothing, but no luck. Looks like she will have to stay nude for the time being…

- However, she does have a piece of good luck, she finds the steamer trunk that she used to float ashore.

- The Survivor – Cecilia realizes that she needs to drink coconut milk to survive. Good thing she was a gymnast in high school and is good at climbing…

- She pops open the coconut with a rock. Somehow I think in real life this would be more difficult.

- …and she has her first drink on the island…

…and her first meal…a banana…

- Her next piece of good luck is to find a hatchet, with which she is able to cut wood.

- She starts a fire with two rocks…somehow I think this would be more difficult in real life as well.

- Oh well…she got the fire started, and is so happy about it that by now she has totally forgotten that she is still completely naked.

- Cecilia realizes that she needs something more than coconuts and bananas to survive, so she tries her luck at spear-fishing. No swimsuit needed…

- And, what do you know…she got her first fish…

- …and cooks her first meal…

- …and enjoys the catch of the day…

- Shelter is more of a problem. All she has is a lean-to, and the only thing that does for her is keep off some of the rain.

- She sleeps in the open…completely uncovered. This is hard to get used to.

- In the middle of the night she gets cold and needs to light her fire to warm up. Sleeping is the bad part about her time on the beach.

- In the morning she is totally exhausted.

- And now it’s raining again, leaving her stuck under her lean-to. This totally sucks. She has just got to get out of here…off this beach.

- Cecilia studies the logs on the beach and comes up with the idea of building a raft.

- She’s got a start, but what to do about tying it together?

- She looks around the beach and finds a machete…

- ...that she uses to cut though the brush…

- …and finally she is able to explore and see something else besides the beach…

- Cecilia’s explorations take her to a place where there is an idol and a bunch of orangutans.

- She wants that idol and is willing to fight the orangutans to get it.

- But it turns out that bribing them works better…

- Monkey see…monkey do…yes, poor Cecilia’s social activities are a bit limited right now…

- But it does get her that coveted idol.

- And now she has her very own idol to talk to…

- I wish I had my own idol to talk to…I’m envious…

- …or maybe not. Holy crap! That thing gassed her! Now she is suffering from a life threatening condition!

- So…our heroine sets out in search of a cure to idol-borne illnesses.

- …and finds the portal to a new part of the island.

- Ooooo…this place is kinda nice…with its own waterfall and a pre-furnished hut. For a girl just off the beach, you can’t beat that…

- But, first things first. Cecilia has to cure herself, and very conveniently finds just the thing…sitting in a medicine kit right on the porch of the hut.

- Her pleasures are kinda simple…splash…splash…

- But at least she can progress on her raft…

- Cecilia has had enough of this beach. She moves inland.

- She has her very own swimming hole with a waterfall. Now just how many young women have that in their lives?

- Not bad…not bad at all…

- She can even jog. By this time Cecilia has gone several weeks without wearing any clothing. She no longer misses it or even thinks about it.

- Yes, our heroine is one with nature, even as she continues to explore.

- Hmmm…more signs of human settlement…an old temple.

- She brings her idol, to see what happens if she puts it where it is supposed to go…

- …and it opens a doorway to another beach.

- Hmmm…other survivors…

- They are so wrapped up in themselves they could care less that the newcomer isn’t wearing any clothes.

- Cecilia looks at the filthy get-ups of the other women. In contrast her body is clean and toned. She wonders why the others don’t just get undressed.

- She talks to the presumed leader of the group, an obnoxious corporate type called Hugh.

- Hugh tells her about a professor that is feeding the group. So Cecilia decides to find the professor.

- Well, what do you know? Here he is…ready to help…so it seems…

- Anyhow, Cecilia now got a mast for her raft.

- Just two items to go…a sail and a rudder…

- The professor has a suggestion…make a mat out of grass…

- Cecilia explores some more and travels to the center of the island.

- Finally she comes across a field with some grass.

- She sees hyenas chasing a young native girl. The girl climbs in a tree to escape.

- Cecilia throws a bone and the hyenas run off, fighting over it. Man, those things are nasty.

- Well-well, it turns out the girl is the chief’s daughter. Cool…it helps to have friends in high places…

- So now Cecilia is off to see a new place…

- …the native village. The chief’s main guard is there to say hello…

- …and tell her about the eligible singles in the village: four men and four women.

- The first guy disqualifies himself right away. Too much of an ego for Cecilia’s tastes.

- The other guys don’t suit her either, they’re wimps: one needs her to fix his stuff and another needs her help him fish, but hmm…this woman’s kinda cute.

- …and plays a mean game of catch.

- …and admires Cecilia’s lovely bare body as she walks away.

- The second woman wants Cecilia to push her on the swing…screw that…

- Cecilia finally get’s some clothing, a gift from the natives. To be nice to the natives she wears it every so often, but by now she much prefers to be naked.

- Oooo…who’s this? Underneath all that body paint she looks like a real sweetie…

- Hmm…nice…her name is Tumata and she shares chemistry with Cecilia. They have some innocent hot-tubbing fun.

- Yes, Cecilia and Tumata are definitely interested in each other. Fortunately this is not taboo in the village.

- Meanwhile the other survivors crash Cecilia’s home and use her stuff. Being the nice heroine that she is, she cooks them dinner.

- …and they eat…and make it increasingly obvious they are not planning to leave.

- Finally Hugh pulls his money grubbing corporate crap one time too many. Cecilia has had enough…

- HA-HA-HA!!! The brain sucker! Cecilia nails that obnoxious prick with her handy Sim brain-sucker!

- He-he-he-he! Take that you piece of corporate shit!

- Oh well. Torturing Hugh is only fun for so long, and now it is time for Cecilia to move on. She decides to live with the natives.

- They already have moved her raft, and Tumata is waiting for her. Hmm…she really is a sweat thing…

- Cecilia puts up her sail, ignoring her growing attraction for Tumata

- One step closer to home…just the rudder is missing…

- But that is gonna cost her. The chief will give her a rudder, for a price…she needs to get his drum from the cursed village.

- She has to travel and see the village Shaman. This place is definitely not to Cecilia’s liking.

- The Shaman gives Cecilia permission to enter the cursed village.

- And all she has to do is put some ghosts to rest. Now the place is no longer haunted and Cecilia can pick up the Chief’s drum.

- Now to celebrate…with drinking…

- …limba...and fire walking…OUCH!!!

- Oh how sweet…Tumata and Cecilia are really taken with each other. Cecilia always liked guys before the cruise…but this girl is really special…

- Cecilia finally gets her rudder…and Tumata runs off…her feelings hurt ‘cause Cecilia is still planning to go home…

- But now there is a much bigger problem. Looks like Tumata has been playing with poisonous idols and is now sick.

- So, Cecilia will need to save the day, and more importantly her cute Tumata…

- She explores, looking for some more medicine.

- Her wanderings take to an abandoned research base.

- Hmm…research…professor…is there a connection? How come he didn’t tell her about this base?

- Cecilia uses her raft to travel to a nearby island. She searches the beaches…

- …and even crosses hot lava fields…desperate to save her love…

- The heat on her unprotected body is painful, but she presses on…

- Then, she finds the engineer of the ship upon which she and the others were traveling. He tells her that the professor is the one who caused the ship to crash.

- …and promptly dies. Interesting, Cecilia never saw Death up close before…not a very pretty sight…

- Cecilia confronts the professor, but still does not have a cure for her beloved Tumata. What she does have is a staff to get into the big pyramid/treasure vault of the natives.

- She lets the professor in.

- He drinks something that is suppose to make him young and powerful.

- Oh man…this is not a pretty sight…

- Cecilia needs to put an end to this…quick! She zaps the professor with her magic staff…

- The staff has the power to heal as well, and of course Tumata gets the first zap of healing blast.

- Oh…Tumata…you’re such a cutie…but once you get together with Cecilia some things are gonna change…

- Cecilia watches her beloved come near…

- …and they have a first kiss…and get ready to live happily ever after…

- However, first things first. Cecilia never wears clothes, and Tumata will have to comply with her lover’s lifestyle as nudist.

- Tumata is so enamored with Cecilia that she even cuts her hair so it looks like Cecilia’s hair.

- And with that the first part of our lovers’ story concludes.
